Desmond

Two of my close friends from high school (Kalysta + Evan) recently had a little baby boy. His name is Desmond and he's adorable. Earlier this month, I walked just around the block to their house to snap a few photos of baby Desmond. He was born a month early, so even now at several weeks old, he's still super little! He's constantly making a squeaky noise that only adds to his cuteness.

T.J. and I are so happy for our friends and their new (little!) addition to their family. We can't wait to see Desmond grow. Seriously, isn't he precious?

Jay + Maggie

Before I drove down to Maryland, I just knew that Jay and Maggie would be a lovable couple. Everything about the location where I was about to shoot made me believe it would be great. And of course, my premonitions did not fail me! We met at Maggie's family's vacation home in Chestertown, MD. It's a gorgeous waterside property and is going to be the site of their wedding! It's absolutely stunning there and come this fall I'm sure it's going to look even better. Maggie and Jay met through mutual friends and currently live in San Francisco! Jay took a red-eye flight to make it in time for our shoot, and neither of them missed a beat. It was a lot of fun getting to know the two of them, and I'm extremely anxious to shoot their wedding in late September. -Jeff

Nina - Spring Collection 2012

April 09, 2012 | Comments | RSS

I wanted to share some portraits I shot this past week for walk in love.'s Spring Collection lookbook. Shooting for walk in love. is one of my favorite things to do. Since I have control over both the images and the styling of the shoot, it's (almost) always enjoyable. :) It's not enjoyable when it's two days before black friday, it's freakin' freezing out and I've got 10 new shirt designs to style and photograph - but currently, that's neither here nor there.

Last Friday, (Friday, gotta get down on Friday... don't judge - you know all the words too) I shot Nina at a local friend's property and the images turned out beautifully. I'm thrilled with them, especially the ones with the bike. I knew those would be my favorite before I'd even shot them!

These warm, happy images make me so excited for this year's wedding season to really start. It's going to be awesome. -Brooke

Kealan + Alison

March 18, 2012 | Comments | RSS

When Alison and I shared e-mails about arranging her engagement shoot I knew that it was going to be a great session. Kealan and Alison are so much fun to be around and our entire session included story telling and laughing. We decided to meet at the Rockford Plantation, but since I've photographed a lot of couples there I scouted the area to go for a different look than usual. It was an incredibly windy day but I'm so grateful for their willingness to get some awesome images. As we were talking, we both had an appreciation for long distance relationships and even though theirs wasn't as far as mine is, it gave me tons of hope that it's doable. Their wedding is now one of my most anticipated of the year, as they are an absolute joy to be around. -Jeff

Stephen + Lori

February 17, 2012 | Comments | RSS

Last month, while in Jamaica, T.J. and I had the opportunity to something we don't get to do very often (besides be in Jamaica!) - we got to shoot portraits of past clients. Last summer we shot Stephen and Lori's wedding... remember their awesome wedding with the guinea pig cake toppers and Lori's fabulous glitter shoes? I do!!

Karl + Kristen were getting married in Jamaica, which is why we were all in Jamaica in the first place. Lori is Kristen's younger sister, so you could say we're like their family's photographers or something.

It was so much fun getting to shoot Stephen + Lori again. They're incredibly sweet and very much in love. They have this natural, quirky chemistry that's great in front of the camera.

And to Stephen + Lori - thanks for getting up early in the morning to let T.J. and I photograph you. You are both wonderful... and even better together. -Brooke
