Photography is certainly one of my all time favorite things. Second in line, might be the kind of friends who are totally awesome and make you a better person. So what could be better than photographing the wedding celebration of one of those friends? Nothing, really. :)
I met David while attending Liberty University in 2005-2006, but it wasn't until a year or so later that we became good friends. I was also introduced to Rachel, through a mutual friend, during my time at Liberty. One day I thought to myself, while watching David and Rachel talk to one another on campus, "Hey. They'd make an awesome couple." And then, BAM. They were a couple. And became double awesome.
David and Rachel tied the knot on December 12th, 2009 - and their day went a little something like this:
We met up with Rachel and her bridesmaids at a local salon, where Rachel was getting her hair and make up done. I had never seen a bride so excited to get married. If I could have been given a dollar for every time she said the words "bride" "wedding day" and "david"... I would have walked out of that salon a lot richer. :)
The ceremony was beautiful and of course, I cried. After their vows and first kiss, David and Rachel sang a song together, which was fitting for a worship pastor and his wife.
Family photos followed the ceremony as my team and I made everyone brave the freezing weather for some natural light. Bridal party photos were next. And then some portraits of the bride and groom.
For the photos of David and Rachel, we did something I had never done before. Instead of just picking a random location, we went to the house that they bought together. It was perfect. We did photos on their front porch and in their yard.
At the reception, Jeff and I manned the dance floor - while T.J. handled the PHOTO BOOTH we set up as a wedding gift for David and Rachel. It was fabulous!
The video at the bottom was created by my brother, Taylor Courtney. I love how if you look closely enough at the video, you can find the "matching photo moments". If you need any video work done, Taylor is guy I'd recommend. You can email him at taylor@brookecourtney.com.
Enjoy this post. And leave comments - I love knowing everyone's favorite photo. [BC & Team]
